Halva Balls
This versatile recipe lends itself to your creativity. Personally, I find it heavy, but I found that many in the workshops love it. It is healthy, filling and most importantly, tasty.
Ingredients
- 4 tbsp roasted whole sesame seeds
- 4 tbsp sesame butter
- 2 tbsp pitted dates, mashed with a fork
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Method
Coarsely grind the roasted sesame seeds and mix with the rest of the ingredients. Roll into balls of about 1″ diameter. Cool and serve.
Variations
- Sesame can be replaced with nuts like cashew nuts or peanuts that are lightly crushed.
- Sesame butter may be replaced with other nut butters.
- Dates may be replaced with raisins, apricots and figs.
Makes about 18-24 balls
