How can you reverse diabetes?
To get rid of any problem, you need to understand the cause of the problem and work on its removal.
Here are the topmost causes of diabetes that should be eliminated:
1. Hormonal Imbalance
Like PCOD, hypothyroid, infertility, menstrual problems, menopausal problems, premature puberty, breast cancer, prostate cancer, ovarian cancer, diabetes is a hormonal issue. Hormones are regulated by the pituitary gland, and all of them are interconnected. When one hormone goes out of balance, others too can be affected.
|
2. Hormones from the outside
Dairy is full of hormones. All animal products are likely to be high in hormones, while non-organic plant foods may also contain hormones. Hormonal medications like steroids cause diabetes.
|
3. Fat
Fat, not sugar is the real culprit. Fat inside the muscle cells causes insulin resistance. Therefore, we must reduce all fats without fibre – oil, ghee, butter, and animal products including dairy and eggs since they too contain high amounts of fat.
|
4. Lack of Fibre
Although plants contain fibre, refined and processed plant foods lack fibre. Fibre holds on to both sugar and fat and prevents them from entering the blood circulation quickly, keeping a control on the sugar level.
|
5. Chemicals
Chemicals are hormone disruptors. Medications, personal care products (hair dye, deodorants, toothpaste, hand sanitisers, soaps, perfumes, makeup etc), home care products (air freshners, detergents, pest control, phenyl etc), non organic foods, readymade products, plastics, artificial sweeteners – all add to the chemical load on the body.
|
6. Dairy in all forms
Dairy in all forms is one of the biggest causes of diabetes. Dairy contains no fibre. On the other hand, dairy is full of fat, hormones, chemicals (pesticides, PCBs, urea, antibiotics, adulterants), and is therefore the leading cause of Type 2 diabetes. Cow’s milk proteins also induce antibody formation typical of Type 1 diabetes.
|
7. Stress
Stress often is the precipitating cause of diabetes. Whenever we are stressed or sick (physical stress on the body), blood sugars go up.
|
8. Lack of Exercise
Our modern day lifestyles definitely contribute to high blood sugars!
|
9. Lack of Vitamin D
Vitamin D is a hormone and lack of it can be a cause of diabetes. Make sure that you periodically check your vitamin D levels.
|
9. Acidic, addictive foods
Tea, coffee, colas, alcohol, smoking raise blood sugar levels and should be completely avoided.
