Seema Nayak
Seema Nayak completed her Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Mumbai University, after which she served in the Army Dental Corps for 4 years as a Captain. She then took the decision to switch careers and completed her Post Graduation in Communications from MICA, Ahmedabad.
While leading a stressful corporate life in Mumbai, she paid scant attention to her nutrition or her lifestyle. Her low immunity, frequent colds and coughs and increasing blood sugar levels were ignored by her. However, as she approached midlife, she was determined to avoid getting diabetes like her parents had, and set out to research how to go about it. She soon learnt that the food we eat, and not our genes, has a major role to play in being the cause of several lifestyle diseases.
She attended a seminar by Dr Nandita Shah, and changed her food choices when she learnt the truth. Since then, there has been no looking back. Her family too has benefited greatly. So much so, that Seema underwent the Facilitator Training Programme with SHARAN and is spreading the message through talks and cooking classes in Goa, where she now lives.
