Halva Balls

This versatile recipe lends itself to your creativity. Personally, I find it heavy, but I found that many in the workshops love it. It is healthy, filling and most importantly, tasty.

Ingredients

  • 4 tbsp roasted whole sesame seeds
  • 4 tbsp sesame butter
  • 2 tbsp pitted dates, mashed with a fork
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Method
Coarsely grind the roasted sesame seeds and mix with the rest of the ingredients. Roll into balls of about 1″ diameter. Cool and serve.

Variations

  1. Sesame can be replaced with nuts like cashew nuts or peanuts that are lightly crushed.
  2. Sesame butter may be replaced with other nut butters.
  3. Dates may be replaced with raisins, apricots and figs.

Makes about 18-24 balls
