Methi Thepla

Thepla is generally a spiced roti (Indian flatbread), which sometimes has leaves of fenugreek or other herbs.
Ingredients
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- ½ cup fresh fenugreek (methi) leaves
- 1 tbsp peanut butter
- ¼ tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
- ¼ tsp coriander (dhania) powder
- ¼ tsp cumin (jeera) powder
- ¼ tsp red chilli powder
- ⅛ tsp asafoetida (hing)
- Unrefined salt to taste
Method
Clean and thoroughly wash the fenugreek leaves and finely chop them. Add all the spices and mix well. Mix in the whole wheat flour and water and knead into a dough. Make small balls and roll out into 6″ wide round flat breads, by hand or rolling pin. Cook on a griddle (tawa) on both sides.
Variations
You may use any other greens such as spinach, dill, etc.
