Not exactly his tin of spinach but just as good for your health.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup curry leaves
  • ½ cup fresh coriander leaves
  • ¼ cup mint leaves
  • 4 – 5 spring onions
  • ¼” pc ginger
  • Unrefined salt to taste
  • ¾ tsp date paste
  • 4 – 5 whole green peppercorns (use black peppercorns if the green ones are not available)
  • 1 green chilli
  • ¾ tsp lemon juice

Method

Wash the greens well. Clean the ginger. Grind all the ingredients (except lemon juice) together to a smooth paste, adding enough water to bring it to a chutney/ thick sauce consistency. Add lemon juice, mix well and serve with dosas, idlis, chapatti or rice.
